My mom setting her intention to hike Half Dome

This morning, I received my permit reservation confirmation from the Yosemite Wilderness Permit Office. My entry date will be August 8, 2012. I am SO excited!!

It's still very early and plans may change, but I probably won't start my JMT trek until August 10. Why, you ask? Last year, I took my mom to Yosemite for mother's day. She loved Yosemite so much, she proclaimed that she wanted to hike Half Dome before she turns 60.

The tentative plan is to spend two nights at Little Yosemite Valley Campground, summit Half Dome, and while my mom and cousin hike back to Happy Isles, I'll hang a left towards Mt. Whitney ;)
